About the event
Now that the festive season is out the way for another year and following a surprisingly busy January its time to get the salon edits back on the road.
For the fist instalment of 2018 we'll be tasting, exploring some incredible new tea teas coming out of the Nilgiri Hills in southwest India this season. Whilst famous for the rare Nilgiri Frost tea (which wont be ready until mid-March) there are some exciting and entirely new teas coming from my producer there this year. Having built a new factory and development centre, they're producing beautifully crafted and unique teas, including some entirely new creations such as the green Nilgiri Bamboo tea which I'm just totally in love with.
I'll also of course be performing a Japanese Tea Ceremony temae so we can have a mindful and meditative interlude during the evening. The theme will be seasonal, so here's hoping the first hint of spring is in the air.
We'll enjoy a sweet with the Tea Ceremony and round off the evening with a simple bowl of chazuke (please let me know when booking if you are vegan/vegetarian).
You're invited to bring something (a question, problem, tea etc) to discuss and engage in lively conversation like in the Parisienne Salon's of old.
NOTE: if you can't make it for 6pm, it's not a problem. We'll drink tea and chat while we wait for you.
Please graciously respect my private home. We have two gorgeous cats, Fish & Chips who will be around, but they're very friendly so don't worry. I kindly ask that shoes are removed when you arrived (so wear funky socks ;) )
Because this is in my private home, I will provide you with full address details once you have booked. Nearest stations are Blackwall DLR or All Saints DLR though it is also possible to walk from Canary Wharf.
